Church Membership

The Church recognises two categories of members:

Baptised members.
Baptised members are considered full members of the Church. With the invocation of the Holy Spirit, they have bound themselves publicly to live according to the Gospel, have committed themselves to serve God by serving their fellows and to promote the Kingdom of God with all their strength, and are admitted to communicant membership of the Church.

Catechumens.
Catechumens seek instruction in the faith and bind themselves to live according to the Gospel until such time as they may be admitted to communicant membership. This category also embraces such as have been baptised or received in infancy and have yet to be admitted to communicant membership.

Any member of any branch of any other church may be admitted to membership provided he/she has taken proper leave of his congregation of origin and bears a certificate to this effect. The Church may, however, require that such candidates receive furher training in the faith before they are admitted to full membership.

The Apostles' Creed

I believe in God, the Father almighty, creator of heaven and earth.

I believe in Jesus Christ, his only Son, our Lord.
He was conceived by the power of the Holy Spirit and born of the Virgin Mary.
He suffered under Pontius Pilate, was crucified, died, and was buried.
He descended into hell. On the third day he rose again.
He ascended into heaven and is seated at the right hand of God the Father Almighty.
He will come again to judge the living and the dead.

I believe in the Holy Spirit, the holy Christian Church, the communion of saints, the forgiveness of sins, the resurrection of the dead, and the life everlasting.

Amen.

The Lord's Prayer

Our Father in heaven,
Hallowed be your name,
Your kingdom come,
Your will be done, on earth as in heaven.
Give us today our daily bread.
Forgive us our sins
As we forgive our own debtors.
And lead us not into temptation,
But deliver us from evil.
For the kingdom,
The power, and the glory are yours, forever.

Amen

The Greatest Commandment

"You shall love the Lord your God with all your heart, and with all your soul, and with all your mind"

This is the great and foremost commandment, and there is a second like it

"You shall love your neighbour as yourself"

The whole Law and Prophets hang on these two commands

Mathew 22:37-40 & Mark 12:28-34
